The Nesmuk folder is the perfect accessory for gourmets who like to cut with class and respect. It's blade is crafted from a high performance steel containing niobium. In addition, the blade is coated with a few micrometers thick but extremely hard Diamond-Like-Carbon coating. This elegant black carbon layer is insensitive to acids, high temperatures and extremely scratch-resistant. Great side effect: The blade slides more easily through the material to be cut, as the coating has very low coefficients of friction. The blade has a hardness degree of approx. 60 HRC. Every folder is polished by hand to produce the best ergonomics possible. It is constructed as a classic slipjoint, the 85mm (3.3 inch) long blade is only held and positioned by the spring. This spring holds the blade in place with a force of 6 newton. For your safety, the blade can be stopped every 90 degrees.
In four years Nesmuk developed the folder as a flawless work of art without gaps or perceptible screws and bolts. Great care and precision is needed to assemble the folders and is only done by experienced goldsmiths, who have the necessary sensitivity for handling the precious materials. The Janus Folder comes in a high-quality matt black box with the Nesmuk Certificate of Authenticity.
